Seth Schwarz is Paul Sermarzki from Berlin. Besides playing the violin his interest in music began with rap. But living in a city like Berlin it was conceivable that the crossover to electro wouldn’t take too long.
Inspired by his gig’s within the genre including improvisation on the violin he would soon start to produce his own tracks, and as he says himself “every once in a while I get to produce a dance floor suitable track”.
For the EP he must have accidentally taken all those “dance floor suitable” ones, because this is one hell of an EP! The vinyl is out today on Monkey Safari’s What! What! Records. Digital release will be 4th of may.
Friday was not only the day for Parov Stelar to release his new album but also the day for Monkey Safari to release their first ever LP. I have been a huge fan of the two brothers from Halle (Germany) for quite a while now. Besides being owner of the hugely successful labels What! What! Records and Mambo Music, the two also run the legendary Charles Bronson club in their hometown.
As we could already expected ‘Happy Body Music’ is not just made for the dance floor. The album displays the diversity in their production that we have never seen within their previous releases. It includes a number of deeper tracks, hip-hop up to real dance floor bangers.
For information about their tour dates simply go to their Facebook page. I saw them at Prater Sauna in Vienna this winter and can only highly recommend their live show.
