Dirty Honkers, who probably are the most interesting live-act I’ve seen so far in electro-swing world, are going to drop a new EP this friday. It is named “Just a taste” and will be out on french label Banzai Lab. I see absolutely no way how somebody could not be in love with this..
Dirty Honkers are a mixed trio based in Berlin. However none of them actually is from Berlin. There is Gad Hinkis from Israel, Andrea Roberts-Toronto and Florent Mannant-France. The three joined forces in the end of 2009 to create the Dirty Honkers. They immediately started composing and producing songs, and within a month were playing live shows around Berlin soon expending to Germany and now all over Europe and even the U.S.
Their live show down here in Augsburg last fall was one of the best I ever experienced. I’m sure I owe them at least a part of my excitement for electro-swing music. The music they produce though can’t be fully described as electro-swing.. I’m not sure if it can even be described, just listen yourself!
